Finally a Free WordPress E-commerce solution has arrived. I could not have asked for anything better!

Below is a video on installing the WooCommerce Plugin developed by WooThemes. The video covers installing of the plugin on a fresh wordpress installation along with a walk through all the plugin options. I will install the free theme for WooCommerce and setup the store.

Lets begin with the fresh installation of WordPress. We will first install the WooCommerce Plugin using the WordPress administrative panel. After installing the plugin, activate the same. Once the plugin is activated, browse your website’s homepage and you will find that many pages have been added. The plugin option includes the following sections: General, Pages, Catalogue, Inventory, Shipping, Tax, Shipping Methods and Payment Gateways. A thing to be noted here is WooThemes have mentioned that they will be releasing many extensions for this open source plugin. Using the plugin options you can make/add all the necessary changes and details.

Once the settings are done, we will move ahead and install the free theme – Wootique. There are also many paid themes available to choose from. Once the theme is installed and activated you are ready to add the products and other necessary details to your store.

Professional Hosting – Indian Servers

This is the first time I would be reviewing a hosting company. Till date I never felt like reviewing any web hosting company I had dealt with.

There was a big empty space in the Indian Web Hosting business. This space is filled up very well by Hostgator India. The reason I am in for Hostgator are many and I will discuss this more in detail.

Hostgator is not new in the web hosting business. It is running successfully in the US for many years and many of my clients are happy with Hostgator US. Many of my Indian friends also use Hostgator US for hosting some of there busy websites; reason being that they could not find any professional hosting company in India who can offer them services which they required. In India, Hostgator came with the same expertise as in US.

I recommended one of my client to try Hostgator India for his business finance website. The technical team at Hostgator did a good job of transferring the whole site well within 48 hours. The overall downtime of the site was just about 1-2 hours because of the nameserver change. Even the sales team was very helpful while suggesting the hosting plan and in the process of placing the order.

Another thing which I liked about this company is that they have face. Unlike many Indian Hosting company Hostgator as its own office setup as well as an active Facebook fanpage which can be used to get more information about the services they offer. The pricing and coupons offered by Hostgator India is very good.

As an all I would suggest that if you have a site which has majorly Indian traffic and currently using US servers, please migrate to Hostgator or if you are planning to buy a new hosting for your website I highly recommend Hostgator India.

I personally liked the browser version because I do not own any of the following devices – iPad, iPhone, an Android based Phone or any other tablet. Finding Angry Bird for Samsung mobile was difficult. Also my MacBook runs on a old Mac OS X version for which Angry Birds is not available. So this browser version of the game is a boon to me.

Its been developed for Chrome browser and so is best enjoyed on Google Chrome

Suvarnabhumi Airport Logo

The upward sweep of the logo symbolizes the Company’s (Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited) continuous growth & development and also the most important aspect, to be a leading player in the airport business.
Various details of the logo comprehensively represent the physicality of the Suvarnabhumi as an airport with the 3 blue strips representing the airport’s runways while the 2 golden strips represent the parked aircrafts. Fram a different viewpoint, the 3 blue strips could also be seen to represent the arching top of Suvarnabhaumi’s Passenger Terminal Building.
By combing the beauty of linear design found in Thai art with that of modern design makes the logo unique, reflecting the appropriateness of Suvarnabhumi Airport of Thailand.

The Font

Font design of the name “Suvarnabhumi” has also been specially designed so that the letter reflect a similar theme with each letter having Thai-ness at the end f the brush stroke; appropriately reflecting Suvarnabhumi as the country’s International Airport

Colors

Copper Gold: The color of copper gold symbolizes prosperity and represents the meaning of “Suvarnabhumi” – “golden land” and thus the prosperity and strength of the Company
Blue: The color blue symbolizes circumspectness, prudence and friendship which represents the Company’s character.

The logo was selected from the 635 entries in the Suvarnabhumi Airport Logo Design Contest, held from 20th July – 20th August 2009. The winner of the 1st prize is Mr. Taotai Suksirithada, a graduate student from Chulalongkorn University , who received 100,000 (one hundred thousand) baht and an award from HRH Princess Soamsavali.
